Blank Screen after Installing Windows 8.1?

I installed Windows 8.1 earlier today, and the process finished without any trouble. However, a few minutes after reloading, Windows forced me to log off. When I logged back on, there was only a blank screen with a cursor. I activated task manager and a warning appeared stating, "?CreateRect@Value@DirectUI@@SAPEAV12@HHHH@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Windows\System32\Windows.UI.Immersive.dll".

I've ran sfc scannow several times, and after viewing the log file each time it says it's repairing corrupt files "Windows.UI.Immersive.dll", "ActionCenterCPL.dll", "slmgr.vbs", "ActionCenter.dll.mui", and "slwga.dll" from store.

Each time after running the scan, the computer will repeat the same process: it will work normally for a few minutes (one or two), and then force me to log out once again with the blank screen greeting me again if I log back in.

I've tried uninstalling all of my drivers, my antivirus program, and a few other programs, yet the problem has persisted each time. Does anyone have any idea how this could be fixed? "Windows.UI.Immersive.dll" seems to be appearing a lot, but I'm not familiar with its function and how the installation could be affected by it.

    Alright I figured it out

    YOU need to perform a clean Install of Windows 8.1

    Get your hands on Windows 8.1 ISO (How?)

    Find that Setup Assistant link that shows you either

    Windows 8.1 or

    Windows 8

    Download it, its going to verify your cd key. Keep in mind the key you have is probably for Windows 8 (am I right?) and will not work for windows 8.1 verification.

    So step 1

    Download Windows 8 setup assistant, as soon as it starts to get to 1-3% quit it

    Step 2

    Now Download Windows 8.1 setup assistant, YOU READ IT CORRECT, and you shall see it will start!

    Once done save ISO media to USB/DVD and install.

    Yes ding ding ding! you need a key.

    Where can I get one, just get any random Windows 8.1 key

    Once installed change your key under windows system activation, or click on activation and change key.

    That's right you can use Windows 8 (Legit) key to activate.

    Boom done!!!

    Update all, working fine since past 30mins for me

    This is The easiest way to do it.

    Here are the steps:

    1. When Black Screen Appears, press CTRL+ALT+DEL

    2.Go to "task Manager" and Press OK At both windows which open.

    3.expend more option

    4.Click "file" in the upper left corner and type CMD and check run this as Administrator.

    5.Type sfc /scannow   (there is a space between sfc and /scannow)

    6.Wait until repair finish.

    7.type  cd C:\Windows

    8.type  "c:\windows activation technologies"  (with quotation)

    9.Press y and Click entert

    10.type   shutdown -r -t 2

    11.It will restart and everything will go fine.

    after I changed ui.immersive.dll with a new one, I update my driver graphic by sw updater. and then restart my computer, now my windows 8.1 display appear.

    hi

    i found  a solution that fixed our problem ..

    you should download another 'windows 8.1' because i think it's have some issue in immersive.dll file and other files 

    then you need to log into boot mode and choose troubleshooting from 3 option

    after this 5 option will shown choose first one  i think it's ' refresh your PC' you need to enter your password then after refreshing your PC should work fine

    * all your files will be the same but the programs no its will be deleted

    We had a similar problem on our brand new Windows 8/8.1 Dell computers: after the UEFI Dell boot logo we got a black screen for about 5 minutes before we were able to log-on. The system event log listed related time-out error messages for various Windows services (not always the same ones during each reboot).

    After extensive testing and troubleshooting it turned-out that Microsoft Forefront Client Security was the culprit.  This Microsoft antivirus tool was automatically deployed through System Center Essentials 2010 and Forefront Protection Server, hence we had to disable this for Windows 8 clients, and revert to the built-in Windows Defender. I assume that Microsoft Forefront Client Security is not (yet) supported on Windows 8/8.1.
