Akshay, go to PC Settings\PC and devices\PC Info, selecting "Change product key" and re-enter your Windows 8 product key, the watermark will disappear after the key has been accepted and the system rebooted. I did this and the watermark is gone from my desktop.
Windows 8.1 Pro Secure Build isnt configured correctly build 9600 watermark
I have recently downloaded the Windows 8.1 Pro version and I now have a "Secure Build isnt configured correctly build 9600" watermark on my desktop. I updated from windows 8 pro to 8.1. I tried to configure the bios to enable secure boot I cant find it anywhere on the BIOS screen. I have an ASUS X401a laptop. I also tried to edit the group policy that enable advanced boot options as well but nothing seems to work. Now my question is this fixable or will my laptop stop working after certain amount of time. This is very frustrating as I use this as my computer for school. Also Windows 8 has been activated since I checked for the key and its fine.

2013-10-28T06:53:04+00:00 Like Akshay, I too upgraded via the windows store, entered my 8.0 product key, and I also see a watermark "Windows 8.1 Pro, Evaluation copy. Build 9600". It wasn't there on the initial upgrade but did appear after the PC rebooted. I checked the system info and it states that the software is activated. How do I remove the watermark?
PS. I'm running a Gigibyte GA-990FXA-UD3 AMD 990FX board/processor.

depends what A55xxx you have
Check on the above website
select your A55xxx
download
select OS
If Windows 8.1 is showing, than maybe easy to fix
if only windows 8 shows
you must empty complete Hard Disk and set HDD to MBR.
Or let me know what A55xxx you have.
Maybe I can help
because we are still waiting on a microsoft help patch.

2013-10-27T07:19:49+00:00 I have an Asus A55 and have the same problem, there is NO SECURE BOOT OPTION in the Bios for me to enable or disable even after installing the latest version of the Bios.
So where do we go from here. I had Win 8.0 Pro running fine on the machine but since I updated to Win 8.1 Pro problems started. I even tried a computer refresh without losing files etc. I get a message saying some files are missing please install media in USB or DVD drive. I tried my Win 8.0 Pro DVD, it wont accept it. I don't have Media for Win 8.1 Pro as I downloaded it from the Widows App store so how can I do what the machine asks in order to do a Refresh.
