Windows 8.1 Pro Secure Build isnt configured correctly build 9600 watermark

I have recently downloaded the Windows 8.1 Pro version and I now have a "Secure Build isnt configured correctly build 9600" watermark on my desktop. I updated from windows 8 pro to 8.1. I tried to configure the bios to enable secure boot I cant find it anywhere on the BIOS screen. I have an ASUS X401a laptop. I also tried to edit the group policy that enable advanced boot options as well but nothing seems to work. Now my question is this fixable or will my laptop stop working after certain amount of time. This is very frustrating as I use this as my computer for school.  Also Windows 8 has been activated since I checked for the key and its fine.

    I have ASUS K95VM and was Original delivered with windows 7.

    If the Secure Boot Control function is not present in the BIOS, then you can only get rid of the (error) message by converting the diskformat to MBR.

    This is ridiculous, why do I have to turn on secureboot? Most people like me, we do not care "secureboot" at all, just let the water mark go!

    "Secure Build isn't configured correctly build 9600" is showing up on the surface pro also and not on any of the other computers I upgraded to 8.1

    I have a HP Pavilion 15-e056sl Notebook PC with Microsoft Windows 8 preinstalled, now in dual-boot with Arch GNU/Linux. Actually I turned off SecureBoot from BIOS in order to use GNU GRUB at startup (if SecureBoot is activated GRUB is not recognized).

    So, for me, SecureBoot now is correctly configured (=off).

    Accordingly, how I can remove that misleading message?

    Before upgrading the system to Windows 8.1 I was really proud of my dual-boot-machine and everything worked fine. Now I have that horrible warning message on the right corner of my desktop. But it is really a misleading message!

    My main concern is since the watermark is active, will my copy of windows 8.1 Pro expire after a few months? Or should I just re-install Windows 8 using the disk and not update to 8.1?
