There are 72 processes running in my Windows 8.1 PC, are they malicious?

i spoke to nokia care team today and in actual fact

YOU CANNOT DISABLE THE AUTO LOCK ON NOKIA LUMIA 720...

so everytime the recordings on my phone are playing via recorder pro plus...

they stop every 5 minutes when auto lock comes on...pain in the preverbial...hey ho

also there is no person to person nokia point in london..........

so its all my telephone which is a bit tricky for me, since its a visual phone...

mmmmm

i have also decided to revert back dare i say it to MACK this coming year...

as unless i did a computer techie course i dont have the time for the wrangles im facing..

but more cons than pros to be honest...

i can see you getting angry???? i hope not

No, I'm not angry. If anything, the thought about switching to an Apple machine has crossed my mind several times as well especially with Microsoft moving the goalposts every other week as they seem to be doing at the moment. I've been a Windows fan ever since 3.1 days and I used to build my own PCs. But I'm getting older now and I don't have 20/20 vision anymore so rummaging around inside the innards of a PC case trying to see where that miniscule jumper is supposed to fit is just not on these days. 

But I don't like Microsoft's modus operandi anymore and they're becoming far too inquisitive for my liking, For that reason, I refuse point blank to sign in with a Microsoft account. So the store is out of bounds to me, but that's OK. There are plenty of sites on the Web where I can download (free) software from if I need it.

At least with Apple, you don't have to sign in the whole machine just to download from the store.

As for Nokia saying that the autolock cannot be disabled, that's fine so long as it doesn't intefere with other apps, but if it does, then that needs to be addressed. If it limits you to just five mins of audio, then dump it, or flog it and get an Android phone.

Anyway, if you need any help with anything, just holla ;)

FINALLY the system image worked ON ANOTHER HDrive...

all my files backed up and everything on my computer fairly healthy.

However the lingering problems are now with my NOKIA PHONE...

which ive now been redirected to the nokia care company which is in philippines...i would have liked to have a person to person contact where i could learn the features and troubleshooting issues but sadly they do not provide this service.

nokia phone is not syncing the music from media player... it works and then the PLAYLISTS and albums disappear from the phone... nokia lumia 720 has great features but as an MP3 player its lousy...

ah well..

also have no clue how to turn the AUTO LOCK FEATURE off ON MY PHONE DESPITE searching for it tirelessly on the net...this is not your domain i know.

I have learnt a lot over the past couple of weeks and wish to thank you again for your support.

i may be back on in the future!!!! aggghhhhh

Hi Sarah,

Glad to hear you sorted out your system image headache.

If you want to revert to it at some time in the future, here's how.

1. Hit Windows key + i to open the Charms menu and click "Change PC Settings".
2. Next, click "Update and Recovery" followed by "Recovery".
3. At the bottom on the right, you'll find Advanced Startup. Click the Restart now button. See screenshot.
4. On the plain blue screen which appears when the computer reboots, click "Troubleshoot".
5. On the next screen, click Advanced Options followed by "Restore using System Image".
6. Connect your external hard drive and then follow the prompts.

As regards the Lumia lock screen problem, I would image you'd have to do the opposite to enabling it as described here: http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/product/lumia720/userguidance/?action=singleTopic&topic=GUID-BF56CA71-46A6-4668-8588-A06359D58EA8

So if you were to set Password to Off by dragging the slider, that should disable the automatic lock. But that's just guesswork on my part I'm afraid.
