Sarah,
There's a misconception that Apple Macs are virus free, but that's not the case at all as this article clearly demonstrates:

You can find plenty more just by doing a search for "Apple mac vulnerabilities".
Any operating system is vulnerable to attack and the main culprit is the user. Too many users are swayed by advertising and unwittingly install all manner of malware simply by not taking precautions before installing programs such as creating a manual System
Restore point first.
Many users simply don't pay attention to what they're doing during the installation process and just click "Next", "Next", "Next" without reading what's on the screen. With most bona fide software, you usually get the option to choose a "Custom" rather than
a "Recommended", or an "Express installation". But even then, you have to be careful as this screenshot of the Foxit Reader installation demonstrates.

If you choose the Custom installation, but don't remove the checkmark from the box underneath, you still install the Conduit browser hijacker.
You might want to check Internet Explorer though if that's what you're using to make sure Jotzey doesn't appear still. To do that, click the Gear icon, go to "Manage Add-ons" and then click "All add-ons" in the menu which appears. There's a picture of it
