Some other things you can do with Firefox is to customize the layout by adding and removing buttons and moving elements around.
So right click a blank part of the Tab bar and then click "Customize" at the bottom of the menu which opens. That launches a panel which contains lots of buttons and the option to make them smaller. To do the latter, checkmark "Small icons" at the bottom of
that panel.
To add buttons which are contained in the panel. click and hold the left mouse button while you drag them on to the Toolbar.
To remove buttons, reverse the procedure by dragging them into the panel.
Also, while the panel remains open, you can change the layout by dragging buttons to another location.
If you prefer text links instead of the default oblong, orange Firefox button with its menu, right click a blank part of the Tab bar and then click "Menu bar" at the top to remove the checkmark (close the Panel first if that's still open).
