KB2871997 update failure

Has anyone else been unable to install this update? I have tried 5 times without success. I have even tried by downloading directly from the Microsoft web site to no avail. Seems to be no mention of this failure on the M/s site.

    Me too.  I can't install this one or KB2926765.  I've had to hide both!

    As appropriate please download and run the System Update Readiness Tool – 32 bit (x86 version)

    The System Update Readiness Tool creates a log file that captures any issues that the tool found or fixed. The log file is located at the following location:

    •%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

    •%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

    The system root is normally C.

    Please upload a copy of these logs to your OneDrive as shared files and post a link here.

    Disabled anti-virus software - update would still not install.  I REALLY don't want to reload Windows 7 and all subsequent software.  Is there any software one can use to correct error 80073712??

    We had the same issue with this update (KB2871997) failing to install. After disabling the McAfee anti-virus software and rerunning the downloaded version of the update file it installed perfectly first time. If you haven't already tried it, disable your AV prior to installing this KB2871997 update it might work for you too.
