Windows 8.1 Install Error 0xC1900101-0x20017

I had this problem upgrading from windows 8 to the preview and was never able to install it. Now I just try with the final and same problem is happening.

Microsoft is really disappointing me. This is ridiculous

    I guess nothing we can do then but wait and hope some sort of fix comes out

    As I've said before I've the same problem and my computer is the same as yours. It's obviously a hardware/driver problem and I think that anyone who solves the issue re-installing/refreshing/decrypting etc. is solving a completely different kind of problem...

    Thanks for the info. The reset procedure has resulted in à working 8.1 installation!:-) Thanks also to raydun on the other thread. Combining the advice from both of you  it finally works. I didn't install the important or optional updates, just the KB2871389 one and made sure that automatic updates from Windows update and device installation were set to manual. It worked flawlessly, just when I had started to give up hope! Thanks :-)
