Dialog box appears with ! sign in a yellow triangle appears while accessing Windows Explorer

Original Title: explorer.exe file creating problem......     

i bought an hp laptop with genuine windows 8.....

earlier it operated nycly bt nw its encountering a problem. when i switch on my lapy the home screens comes in front of me bt without doing anything suddenly desktop opens & a dialog box appear with ! sign in a yellow triangle & written explorer.exe. m facing this problem for more thn a month & my laptop z also slowed down. i have thoroughly scanned my pc with avast internet security & windows defender bt no result came out except 3 viruses which i deleted on the spot.

if any person can help me out in getting rid of this problem i will b very thankful to him/her.

    sir i found 85 programs in uninstall a program in ctrl panel of my new account. 91 in d older one.

    these programs were nt in new account

    Akamai netsession interface

    FARO LS 1.1.501.0 (64BIT)

    Microsoft WSE 3.0 Runtime

    Update for image editor

    i crosschecked d list 2wice bt found only these 4 programs nt present in ctrl panel of new acct.

    plz asisst wat to do nw?

    Could you please let us know where in control panel you found only 85 programs?

    Which are the programs apart from Google Chrome which are missing?

    nw its installing updates

    sir i hv succesfully copied data from my old username folder to new one & now d problem of corrupted account is almost solved except some issues....

    bt whn i went to ctrl panel i found dat in my old profile 91 programs r installed bt in my new one 85 r installed....

    where d rest 6 programs went?

    evn google chrome is not der in new profile....

    & sir some of my folders which were on desktop in old profile r not in new 1..

    so wat to do nw?

    Hi Ashish,

    Method 1:

    Run Windows update troubleshooter which will automatically fix some common problems with Windows Update.

    a. Press Windows + W key on the keyboard.

    b. Type troubleshooting in the search tab and pressEnter.

    c. Click View all on left panel**.**

    d. Click Windows Update, new window will popup.

    e. Follow the on screen instructions.

    Method 2:

    I would suggest you to manually reset the Windows Updates Components

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Type CMD in search box.
    3. Right click on CMD and select Run as administrator.
    4. Stop the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

     c) Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.

    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    d) Now, let’s restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. Type the following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    e) Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it.

     Now you may try running the Windows Updates and check if the above steps resolve the issue.
