Windows Defender in Windows 8.1 Will Not Turn On

Same problema here but by now I think that so many people who have Windows 8 and 8.1 have problems that there is something wrong with it. So they deliver an anti-virus that never quite seems to work. Microsoft should have come with a solution by now! Mine just disappeared although I had never used it. When I wanted to use it all I could find was an empty document and some error messages. If the normal anti-virus disable it Microsoft should have dealt with it lond ago and told people here how to get the Defender to work bu nothing has happened and they went on to develop still another operating system leaving people who have the slightly older one to deal with the problems. It is a disgrace if you ask me.....

Did a Norton free-trial or a McAfee free-trial [PICK ONE] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (Doesn't matter if you never used or Activated it.)

Look, I have no idea of who you are but if I get updates I answer where they are, I don't go somewhere else where no one knows what I am talking about to answer there because it wouldn't make any sense! You are free to say whatever you want to say and so am I!
