Facebook video calling / chat does not work after windows 8.1 PRO upgrade / update

Hi,

I originally had windows 8 PRO where facebook calling was working fine.

I upgraded to 8.1 PRO on 17th, since then am unable to see the Facebook video calling button. I also frequently get the msvcr110.dll was not found error.

  1. I have tied all solutions posted on this forum like do a clean boot, uninstall - install etc.
  2. Microsoft Fix it page says "We're sorry, but your operating system is not supported by Microsoft Fix it at this time."
  3. Tried running in compatibility mode.
  4. I even tried downloading .net frame work and C+ redistribution, but it says system already has the latest software.
  5. I also see some event errors in the event logger:

    they released something to fix this issue???

    They had released a patch to fix issues with IE 11 couple of days back, but that didn't work.

    I'm actually surprised to see that Microsoft has taken more than 11 days to even pronounce themselves about this issue and many more that came as a result of the Windows 8.1 update. Nothing new with them, release something with a bunch of bugs and fix it along the way. Horrible! Hoping for some sort of patch soon

    Geethu B, I think you did not understand this at all.  Everything was working great until upgrading to MS 8.1!  This has nothing to do with Skype since all was working perfectly before the upgrade.  Tells me Microsoft did something to make this not compatible!

    Install Win8 again, It will take you half an hour,  and all your old data will be saved on a Windows.old directory...
