'October 2013 Update For Root Certificate for Windows XP ' KB 931125 Installed

I only use IE for Windows Updates so I forgot that it also has to be used when running a 'Fix-It tool'; I ran it using Firefox.

1. Nonetheless, I 'installed' the tool on the desktop as a desktop icon. Can I just delete that icon or is there a 'trace' of it somewhere else when the program was run?
2. Does running a Microsoft Fix-It do any harm in Firefox or will it just not work?
3. Since it was never completely 'installed,' is it unlikely that there are any traces of it left (e.g Registry) or is that unlikely?

I did 'a 'Search' for Defraggler-related files but none came up besides the Program Files Defraggler folder.

I was told over at Pirisoft that I had the Portable version because the Defraggler folder contained the 'Portable.dat' file. Nonetheless, if that is incorrect information that I was given and it 'was' installed, then it was only installed in the Program Files folder.

The Defraggler folder is not in the Recycle Bin anymore-I deleted it yesterday after a moderator at Pirisoft said that only the folder needs to be deleted since that is the only trace of it-He said that it never installed so there would be no other traces.

In this case, should I still run the Script on the off-chance that there 'is' still a trace in the Registry or elsewhere?

Regarding the FixIt tool from yesterday, you still have not said whether deleting the desktop icon will delete the tool or if I have to delete it from elsewhere as well?

No point in running a script anymore if you've deleted the Defraggler installation folder.

Microsoft Fixits always need to be run using Internet Explorer because no other browser incorporates ActiveX controls. The latter is needed to enable the utility to run from within a browser.

If you downloaded it with Firefox or Google Chrome or any other browser, you can delete it now because it's no good to you anymore.
