Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    Same problem for my Samsung - this happen in both Win 8 and Win 8.1. When I change the Router channel, sometimes it work for weeks but problem recur again and I need do the same. I have seem many complaints in Internet but Window Engineer has not solve this problem. People with Win 7 does not have this problem.

    Everyone who updated to 8.1 is having the issue. The joke is that Msoft owns Bing and tracks every move the world makes, yet cannot discern the thousands and thousands of users asking the same question. I know, because the bleep heads come back with the sophomoric "reboot" answer to everything.

    100 computer manufacturers, 1 issue . HHHHMMMMMM I wonder if this idiot 8.1 needs the reboot.

    It seems the people here are smarter than I when it comes to configuring computers.  What is a poor shmuck to do if he is "not very computer literate".  I just need to turn on my computer and have everything in its place and working........ like my Windows 7 machine did (unfortunately, it died). Forced to by windows 8, fighting metro the whole way, limited wi-fi, and with slow reaction to the touchpad, I found I took a giant step backwards with this new OS.  It is troubling that there seems to be no solutions from the great oracles at Microsoft. 

    Is this the end of their dynasty?

    Well, I've been pulling my hair out trying to deal with my Windows 8.1 PC on my network. Everything worked perfectly fine with connecting to my Airport Extreme network under windows 8. I "upgraded" (going to use that term very loosely at this point) to 8.1 from the Windows Store and now network accessibility has been shot.

    At first I thought that my Cisco AE2500 adapter was incompatible (according to Microsoft's website, it is NOT compatible with Windows 8.1) and so I went out and purchased a Netgear N300 (which is listed as compatible with Windows 8.1), but still have the same issue. I can connect to my network, but my Windows PC is not receiving an IP address, etc.

    Now I manually configured my Airport Extreme to force an IP address on my Windows 8.1 machine, and I've got small bits of network access -- I can browse the web, start a service like Steam. Ironically, however, I can't access with Windows Store or Microsoft Update. Also, I can't "activate" Windows (why I would need to "active" it again is completely beyond me). I think it has to do with some botched network installation on the upgrade. When I try to view the networks by right-clicking on the Wireless icon in the task bar, it says "The dependency service or group failed to start" where the networks should appear (see the attachment).

    So far not impressed by any means.
