Probably because everybody wants to avoid to reinstall all the stuff once again.. like me.. :P For example on my G750JX the Auto Detect doesn't work.. It roll and roll, but never end.. so in the end you need to grep all your drivers manually and update them, but the worse is coming.. all the games, losing all the saves..
Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"
Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon. When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc. I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals. My applicable system specs are as follows;
Lenovo Y510P Laptop
Windows 8.1 Pro
Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230
Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware
Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1 I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

2014-01-27T06:04:47+00:00 Don't think you can actually downgrade you have to a complete system re install. But it looks like the only option an MS have not even acknowledge the issue.
There is guidance on this tited "How to refresh, reset, or restore your PC"
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

2014-01-26T23:09:35+00:00 I have read everyone's response and wonder why people just don't revert back to windows 8? I didn't find anything better with 8.1. There was a different Start app but that even sucked. I downloaded Classicshell the first day I got my laptop and works just like windows 7. I don't even bother with the app functions of windows 8. I know we should help one another but it seems we are not getting the support from MS. I just wished there was a way of blocking the popup to upgrade to windows 8.1.

2014-01-26T15:54:32+00:00 This may have well been posted already, but who has time to read the entire thread. Imo, since I'm no computer guru, I do think it is power related b/c mine seems to shut off the internet only when I'm on battery power. I haven't found a setting that enables me to determine at what battery level it shuts down, but I'm still looking. I haven't lost it since I guessed this was the problem so every time it came back up I had restarted my computer. Next time, I'm going to just connect the power cord and try to turn off, then back on the wifi. God, I hope that works. I still HATE Windows 8.1.
I just changed the settings that gbcjr suggested^^ and hope and pray that works. I'll keep you posted if it doesn't...(If it does, I probably won't even think to come back here to comment). It makes sense.
