Thanks for your comment, But i want to tell you that it is a very hard to get the solution of this issue until and unless MS does any major changes in their OS integration patch.because this issue doesn't come from any specific source and manner. the device driver plays the major role in this issue . so its very hard to trace down that which driver is not compatible with this new OS patch. you have to remove each and every update of every driver and have to check one by one to get that, so it is very complex and lengthy process . so better go for  **"Refresh Window"**option and bear to remove some third party product which you can install again . Here i show you the application which i got remove while this activity. so i believe this solution is worthy. next it is upto you. Thanks!! :)

It's not that hard. As I've previously stated I'd be happy to run any diagnostic they want or a debug build, be happy to send them any log. I'm sure I can follow any instructions they give me, I've been a developing for Windows for years so am at least a little technical.

The problem is they haven't given any instructions, no-one from Microsoft has commented on the issue, people posting here have been ignored and we're left to listening to suggestions from non-Microsoft employees that include uninstalling random third party software and reinstalling from scratch.

Even if a Microsoft employee said 'sorry, we are working on it' that would be great. But nothing...

Totally agree with this comment. It appears that Microsoft expects its users to be computer experts in order to install 8.1. The typical fixes to the installation issues include removing WiFi cards, changing BIOS settings, uninstalling software, disabling services, etc.

Seriously? Could they make it any more difficult? Are they really trying to drive people to Apple?

In the past I upgraded from XP to Vista, Vista to 7, 7 to 8, without any issues. Why is it so difficult to upgrade from 8 to 8.1?

I for one will wait until Microsoft sorts out these issues.

Any solution to upgrading to 8.1 that requires me to reinstall all my 3rd party software products including some from Microsoft such as Office, is not worth it to me.  Maybe Microsoft will figure it out.
