Nokia Lumia 930 microphone problem

Does anybody has a solution for this problem?

Can somebody from Microsoft is able to confirm if it is software or hardware issue?

I have Lumia 930 since 2 months. Suddenly some time ago 2nd microphone stopped to work when i am on a speakermode.

What is really strange, is when i am switching on speaker mode, person from the other side is hearing me for 2 seconds, after that he/she can't hear me. I have to shout and then he/she hears me.

Same problem with my unit. I sent in for warranty.

Waited for almost a month for parts to arrive.

They have to change the whole motherboard as all four mics are attached on it. Mine was Mic 2 & 3 & 4 faulty. Resulting in those symptoms you described.

I suggest you get it replace

After over a year of flawless use, my 930 has just developed the silent microphone problem.

However, there is a bit of a twist. If I record video in portrait there is no recorded sound - but in landscape there is! 

Also, the speaker and microphone setup appears to be in reverse.  i.e. If I use Skype without the speakerphone, the microphone is very sensitive and will pick up my voice from across the room.  If I enable the speaker then the microphone is muted. 

Interestingly "Hey Cortana" now seems to work from distance whereas up until recently it didn't.  

It sounds like something has been updated to make the mic more sensitive in normal use but at the expense of being used with the speakerphone.

I can't see how this is hardware related but it looks like the only solution is to send it back anyway!

I have some good news. My nokia 930 is currently on windows 10 TP NUMBER 10512 The latest update. I am pleased to report that now I can record videos with sound ( which I couldn't do before on the lumia cam or the windows cam) but only on the windows cam and not the lumia.  Did the test call on skype still unfortunately no speaker phone functionality.  So to summarize areas that still don't work: 

 voice recording on what's app....etc.   voice notes don't work.   Speakerphone doesn't work.  Music searches when device is listening to music still doesn't work unless music is very loud and held close to the microphone near the ear piece then it hears. Indigo an app cortina -like used not to hear me my commands but now it does. Google app still doesn't hear me unless I scream loudly near the earpiece.   Cortina continues to hear me fine. The little microphone on the keyboard hears me fine in all apps. That's all. I am a little pleased now that I can use my phone to record videos with sound but still a lot is missing.
