Windows Live Mail can not copy hyperlinks from one e-mail to another.

Hey all.

Long story short, I am writing this for my mother who current runs a dog boarding business as well as various other e-mail accounts, ranging from fan clubs to personal ones. She has a draft e-mail saved which contains information and links she would COPY and PASTE into e-mails prior to sending them. Essentially, these are signatures. No matter which signature she copies and pastes, each one has at least one weblink.

As of yesterday, when copying and pasting that information, the link does not copy with the text. Instead of pasting the text as a hyperlink, like she has been able to, it simply shows the text without any clickable option.

I have double checked the options, Read all messages in plain text is unticked, as well as the Mail Sending Format and News Sending Formation both being set to HTML.

Can anyone help please?

    I just bought an new pc with Windows 8.1 and my Windows Live Mail version is (Build 16.4.3528.0331).

    Until I had Windows 7 I solved the problem by uninstalling IE11.

    Now I cannot uninstall IE11 so I solved it by using Thunderbird. 

    I preferred the other way but since Microsoft doesn't seem to bother..

    Microsoft would rather that we all get with the program and switch over to Windows 8, so why bother fixing problems that involve Windows 7

    I have simulated this issue but I was unable to reproduce it.

    I have just checked again. Using Windows Live Mail 2012 build 16.4.3528.0331 on W7 Pro x64 SP1 with IE11.0.8 KB2953522, hyperlinks copied from a mail message into a message compose window are corrupted on pasting in exactly the way described in my post of 23 November 2013. The users who have complained about this bug have all been using IE11 on W7, so advising us to apply updates to W8.1 isn't really helpful.

    Please ask Ron to test using WLMail 2012 on W7 with IE11.

    First of all, not everyone is on Windows 8, so for those having the problem with Windows 7 do you have different advice?

    I find it hard to believe that you cannot replicate the same problem, as I have been on lots of other forums to find the same problem being reported and you can see from reading the 9 pages in this forum and by visiting others on the Internet that it is certainly not an isolated problem.

    I have spoken to lots of people about this now and tested it on multiple machines and the simple fact is that if you have IE11 installed and you copy a set of text (e.g. an email response template) into a new email message, the links lose their formatting. You can see why this is from the earlier messages in this forum.

    Would you like me to send you a video of this happening?

    This is terrible for anyone using predesigned templates to reply to customers emails. It just isn't practical adding links manually on each email or replying individually when you deal with hundreds of enquiries!

    For the record I have many machines running Windows 7 (A mixture of Pro and Ultimate) and have tried all possible updates and installing Essentials 2012...... None of this helps!!!!!!!!

    The only current solution is uninstalling IE11. Can you offer a better one?

    ps. There was a similar formatting problem in IE9 where it would remove paragraphs from pasted information and this was never fixed either.
