    Hi Rajesh,

Firstly, I have problem with installing app in Windows Store. When I click the install button, the following pop up:

Secondly, I cannot sign in to My Account in Windows Store. When I click the Sign in button under My Account, the sign in page does not load, instead, only the rolling dots appear for a split second and then nothing happen. Basically the Sign in button is not working.

When I run the troubleshooter app, the result is below:

This app helps me successfully cleared Windows Store cache and re-register for Windows Store, however, the problem of "Windows Store configuration may be damaged" cannot be solved.

Following your method 1: Running a SFC Scan, I get the following result:

It seems that there are corrupted files but the SFC is not able to fix them.

How can I access and read the CBS.log? How can I fix the corrupted files? How can I fix the above problem of not being able to install app and sign in to my account?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Simon,

Thank you so much for getting back to us with the updates on this issue. I apologize for the delay in responding to this thread.

I understand that Windows 8.1 Store is working fine on the new user account that you have created on the computer. This shows that the issue was caused due to the corrupted old user profile on the computer.

If you want to transfer the user account settings and files from the corrupted user account to the new user account, then you may follow these steps:

Step 1: Copying old files to newly created User Profile

    a) Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard and select “Windows Explorer” from the menu.

    b) Click on “View” tab and click on “Options” at the top right corner.

    c) Click the “View” tab, and then select “Show hidden files, folders, and drives”.

    d) Uncheck the box which states “Hide protected operating system files”.

    e) Click “Yes” to confirm, and then click on “OK”.

    f) Now, locate “C:\Users\Old_Username” folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed on, and “Old_Username” is the name of the old user profile you want to copy files from.

    g) Select all of the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:

    • Ntuser.dat
    • Ntuser.dat.log
    • Ntuser.ini

    h) Right click and Select “Copy”.

    i) Locate the “C:\Users\New_Username” folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed on, and “New_Username” is the name of the new user profile you have created.

    j) Right click inside the folder and select “Paste”.

    k) Restart your PC and check if you are able to log into the default profile.

Now, you may delete the old user account from your computer.

Step 2: Remove the Corrupted User Account from the Computer

    a) Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys on the keyboard to display the “Settings” search bar.

    b) Type “Remove User Accounts” and press the “Enter” key on the keyboard.

    c) In the “Manage Accounts” window, select the old account and then click on “Delete the account” link on the left pane of the window.

    d) Click on “Delete Files” and then click on “Delete Account” to delete the whole account from the computer.

Hope this is helpful. Please get back to us if you need any further assistance on this. We’ll be glad to assist you with it.
