Did not receive the Microsoft Account Verification Code

I am requested to verify my account, I insert the correct e-mail address for the verification, I am then requested to insert the code that I will receive via e-mail. I never get a code, I have been waiting 3 weeks for this code. does anybody have an answer to this problem ?

    I just tried booting up new laptop for the first time. I am stuck at point of verifying the Microsoft account. Need a verification code as the original code says no longer valid. PC is not booting up at this point. Please help.
