Original title: problem while updating

I am not able to login. whenever i start my pc it shows"we couldn't complete the updates Undoing anges don't turn off your computer"   I am seeing this screen since  24 hrs.

Do you remember which Windows Updates you were trying to install?

I would suggest you to refer to this article and perform the troubleshooting.

Clean Boot: After troubleshooting in a Clean Boot state, make sure to place the computer back to Normal Startup Mode following the same link.

    I resolved this problem in a VMware environment for Windows Server 2012 R2 by:

    • Mount the ISO of the Windows Server disc to the CD/DVD drive of my VM
    • Configure the VM to boot to the CD (Edit VM settings, Boot Options, force Boot to BIOS, update boot order in BIOS, reboot, launch CD)
    • Choose Repair
    • Go to Command Prompt
    • run "dism /image:d:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions"  d: is where the windows directory is located
    • rebooted

    This worked for me (although it took most of the day through trial and error and searching to find the steps that would work.)  Hopefully this will help someone else.

    In my case I had Windows Server 2012 R2 virtual machines (virtualized through Hyper-V on another 2012 R2) and removing the "Secure Boot" option in the Hyper-V configuration fixed the problems. So, if you have it virtualized, please disable Secure Boot!

    This is great for Hyper-V systems, but how about VMware?

    There's no Secure Boot option to disable on this platform.

    This thing ruined my morning.

    I am having this same problem but unable to reboot at all only comes up with the following message:

    We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes, Don't turn off your computer.

    Third computer problem this week! so FRUSTRATING.
