Windows Experience Index reports error. How can I diagnose and fix this?

If all else fails:

... and you desperately want to fix and run the 30sec. experience index test, which rates your computer's performance average between 1 and 8 (you can do this yourself by looking at your computer's purchase receipt, which gives a far better indication of the performance score it rates), you could do a repair install of W7 if you have a W7 disk.

Alternatively,  you could completely ignore this stupid index feature! :-)

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, right click Command Prompt, and click Run as administrator from the drop down menu.. Type *cd* and press ENTER. Type "chkdsk c: /r" without the quotes and hit ENTER. Make sure you include the spaces indicated. Enter Y when asked whether you wish to run chkdsk on restarting the computer. Type exit, press the ENTER key and restart the computer.

Please run System File Checker and say if it cannot fix corrupted files:

Have you tried Windows Update yet?  Just a idea, but perhaps updating Windows and your drivers could help.

I hope you find something useful.   Do you think I should be concerned about the WEI situation or should I just count it as a quirk and leave this alone?
