Surface Arc Touch Mouse not compatible on Windows 7?

However after installing the latest Intel Bluetooth drivers from Intel website (17.0.1405.02, win7 x64), it is working great just as in Windows 8/8.1 as it should be!

Hope my experience could help the rest of you who is still hesitant to it.

We run EliteBook G3 laptops on Windows 7 64 bit, (work PC), and there is no Low Energy BT Driver as standard.

Was considering a Nano USB from Maplin, but I wanted the additional USB port the current mouse was using, so came here.

This (above) worked a charm.

Surface mouse found instantly, and device drivers loaded (standard HID drivers).

It is a Surface Arc Mouse, not a PC Arc mouse, specially made to complement the Surface machines. There is no provision for it to be used with anything but a Surface.

There are similar mice for PC's in general within the Microsoft range. Perhaps you could return the mouse, explaining the predicament and exchange it for a similar mouse which would work on either system type..

I wish you guys spent more time training your staff. Today i bought a Microsoft Arc Mouse which turned out to be not compatible with my Windows 7 machine. The sales person at Microsoft Store, Beackwood Place, OH said "Its Bluetooth .. I have no reason to believe that it wont work on your Windows 7" .. He was simply wrong!

I had the same problem but spent about 3 hours fiddling, even going to Samsung's site to download the latest driver (weirdly the install failed), and in the end I just went to Intel's website to download the latest drivers for the Wifi and Bluetooth chipset.

Voila it worked, and it recognizes as an actual mouse itself! With no reconnecting or whatsoever required.

Go try updating your wireless drivers from whichever chipset manufacturer that made it, either from the laptop manufacturer or the chipset manufacturer. It worked for me..

You are exactly right. The mouse now works with my IBM T460s. I do notice sometimes it flakes out and I have to use the onboard "eraser" head mouse, but that is OK for now. I actually like the audible haptic response on the mouse.
