Get Error 1723 - There is a problem with Windows Installer package

Hi, i am having trouble with .msi files. An example of it would be logmein hamachi. It would return me with error 1723. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. What should I do? i am currently using windows 8 pro with media centre. my windows installer is Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.9200.16384. Thanks

I had the exact same problem. The solution is to go into c:\users"username"\AppData\Local\  then right click on "temp" and choose "properies". Choose "security" --> edit --> add, and add the username you are using, and give yourself all rights. After that it'll work :)

    Sir, i am very grateful for the assistance you are rendering. my point is this, i followed all the instructions you gave but something is still missing

    c:/users/username/...videos

                                   skydrive

                                   searches

                                   saved games

                                   pictures

                                   music

                                   links

                                   favourite

                                   download

                                   documents

                                  desktop

                                   contacts

                                   box sync

    these are the folders i am seeing and not APPDATA. please help!!!
