Get Error 1723 - There is a problem with Windows Installer package

I had the exact same problem. The solution is to go into c:\users"username"\AppData\Local\  then right click on "temp" and choose "properies". Choose "security" --> edit --> add, and add the username you are using, and give yourself all rights. After that it'll work :)

For those of you who cannot find the appdata folder, you may do the following:

• Use Windows Explorer to go to c:\users<user name>
• In Explorer, click the View tab and in the ribbon, check the box to show the hidden files. Other way to show this folder is to write manually the path in the address bar, e.g.: 

       c:\users\fernando\appdata

and then press Enter.

• Either way, now you should be able to see the content of the appdata folder and continue the process.

Hi, i am having trouble while installing SQL server 2014.It would return me with error 1723. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

but i ever tried to allow full control permision on temp but still the same error,and I tried to off my firewall but still the same error. Im Using windows 10 home single language. hope anybody could help me. thanks
