As I said already - you hold the burden of proof, not I - given you are the one making accusations and presenting assumptions.  If your statements have a factual basis, then presenting the source of said fact(s) should be a simple thing.  Cite your sources

I am certain that others reading this understand perfectly. Why you don't, or why you are pretending not to, is the question. I've provided the facts and I have the proof. If you are smart and have any capability to do so, then go ahead and prove me wrong. Don't just deny it! Are you a developer who writes device drivers? Do you design, manufacture, and market such hardware and software? Let me call your bluff. You do the research and then report back here with the proof that I am wrong. Since I've done the research, I know you'd be wasting your time. But, if you're up to the challenge, go for it.

Unfortunately, when I'm dealing with ignorance I lose my cool. Immature? Maybe. It's very frustrating when someone who is ignorant makes statements as if they were factual, especially in the face of the truth. I posted the facts on here to help the people who are going through this ordeal to understand why this is so, who is responsible, and what they can do about it. This problem is rampant. It's affecting millions of users and you cut and paste some **** from the Prolific website and want everyone to accept that as truth. Is that research? Is that the solution? It doesn't work because it's "EOL" or it doesn't work because the only driver supplied by Prolific makes it so. And, it's illegal for anyone to supply any other driver. And, yes Microsoft is pushing that very driver to every Windows 8 and 8.1 equipped computer without the knowledge or permission of the user, by default.

Back in the '60's, Vance Packard wrote a book called "Planned Obsolescence". I happen to believe that this is so much worse than planned obsolescence, it might even be considered criminal in nature.

My own software company has been affected by this game that Prolific and Microsoft are playing.  I've outlined the problem and the cure.

I do not work for Microsoft or represent them in ANY way.  I am merely a peer volunteer on these peer-to-peer volunteer-based Microsoft-centric forums you have chosen to post your rant about another manufacturer's (other than Microsoft) product on.

What "lie" did I present?  Please be very specific.

Why do you feel it necessary to point out, "There is no one in the world more honest and trustworthy than I."?  What proof do you have to this subjective statement?  (Yeah, see what I did there?)

What makes you think Microsoft has anything to do with the product you are having trouble with the drivers for?  Do they have an investment in the company?  Or is it a company with no connection to Microsoft other than they have created drivers for some of their products so that they can be used under Windows among other operating systems?  Please be specific in your answer and the connections you believe exist.

I see you resorted to personal attacks (childish name calling and insinuations about intelligence) towards a stranger.  I guess that is more telling than anything else.  You chose to do that instead of supporting your decisions with facts.
