Call of duty 4 crashes in Windows 8.

my call of duty 4 doesent work in win 8. it gives me this mesage at a random time:

iw3mp.exe has stopped working

i have tryed googeling and found some ansers that dident work on my pc.

i have made no upgrades on my pc and instaled a clean win 8. jet call of duty 4 isent working on win 8 while it whas working on win 7.

i hope someone can help me fix this problem.

Hello to all

I found the solution, u will get ur cod4 crashed if u r using xfire for launching the game or if u already used it once and xfire is running in backround, it will still crashes, first att all try to exit xfire and try then, if the problem is still there u have to let pb services to run on desktop, set full control, after that is done u have to instal pbsvc again, and download pb files for Cod4 cuz Punkbuster is not supporting cod4 anymore, when u copy files to pb file of cod4 problem should be solved, those guys from Microsoft are not even tryin to help...

    Hello.

    Click and domnload this file http://mediafire.com/?gtva9wawv84al2g

    • Select the rar/zip that you downloaded right click and select extract here
    • open the game directory and look for the file name **iw3mp.exe (**search all folders in the game to find it)
    • select and move the file from your game folder and save it in a safe location of your choice
    • copy the downloaded file iw3mp.exe and paste it in the same location where the original one was.....run the game
    • you can reverse it if unsuccessful

    If this is THE Same file as THE outher forum topic related to cod 4 mp. Than it worked for me.

    Replacing THE exe worked! No more crash!

    Hi

    As a owner of a COD4 game servers all our members that had window 8 including my self had the same problem you would play on the server for 1-2 minutest only to get the following error iw3mp.exe has stooped working.

    We have resolved this problem by making changes to our Game Server (punk buster is still active!)

    so far all our admins that have windows 8 have not been kicked out.

    Our game server IP is 27.50.71.232:28931 (AU) so until iw3mp is officially resolved you are more that welcome to play on our .S:S. Clan server.

    could you share what you did to make it work?

    hi all,

    i tryed all things windows or game related.

    updating game,updating punkbuster,updating drivers.

    nothing worked. (havent tryed the server metioned above)

    the only thing that works is playing on non punkbuster servers (on witch are to manny cheaters)

    well at ill think its time for me to go back to win 7. (lukely for me i still have te dual boot.

    i will monitor this forum to see if somone has a awnser that works (instead of general support that doesent).
