I thought about this for a few months now, and just realized something.
I know what I "have" fairly easily...
The history thing is mostly a reminder list of what NOT to get again.
If you think of it that way, it can be a little more useful.
OTOH, I never experiment too much anymore and this is a little hard on
the Developers. I stick with regular desktop programs.
The Apps are a mess.
P.S. Complaining to MS about the history list is a waste of time.
obviously ... since they are not interested in implementing the basic feature to kick even one of the myriad of crappy apps you often go through until you find the one useful one in the store off your history.
they seem to want to make it as hard as possible to actually find and reinstall what was useful in that giant smelling trash heap that is the current history should you ever set up a new device.
i have given up on the subject quite a while back and simply decided to never ever install anything that costs a single cent from that store. in the end missing basic features like this one will just push people from adopting the app-store and disincentivise
programmers to develop for it -> microsoft looses out.
slap them with a closed wallet ... still the most effective way to punish stupidity in companies.
