Exact same issue. The store worked perfectly, allowing me to upgrade to Win 8.1. It's not working after the upgrade, however. The live tile informs me about new apps in the store, but when I click the tile, the splash screen
comes up for a second before dumping me back into the desktop.
running wsreset gives me
ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches
The remote procedure call failed.
This is getting serious. I figured it would be a problem isolated to the "old" Windows Store on Windows 8.0 and that the new Windows 8.1 update would tidy this issue up.
Just so people know, the problem cannot be solved with a WSRESET because the failure error reveals itself when running WSRESET.
I suspect there is a DLL out there that needs to be registered/updated, temp files to be cleared, caches to be cleared, or perhaps some DCOM permissions to be boosted. Beyond suspicions of the usual suspects, I don't have any idea yet as to where you can
go from here.
