Photos App in 8.1 loses most of its best features e.g. Facebook/Flickr support...

Please MS keep the libraries functionality and allow them to appear in the photo app

Or to put it another way, "Please MS make your software work correctly with your own operating system."

Thanks for the feedback, everybody.  In Windows 8, we wanted to provide a way for folks to view their photos on other services knowing there would be few (if any) apps in the store at launch that would do so.  Now there are many apps in the store that offer ways to view photos on other services and soon there will even be a Facebook app from Facebook.  We’re confident Facebook will offer great ways to view and engage socially with photos on Facebook.  We welcome Flickr to do the same.  In addition, the People app still offers the ability to socially engage with your friends and even your own photos.

.... Now you're basically begging for someone to build a feature equivalent replacement.  Indefensible feature cut in my view.

Except NO developer will create an app that allows other services i.e. The Competition) to piggyback onto their own App.

Only Microsoft can do this! Clearly they are being pressured by Facebook. What next? Facebook demanding that Microsoft remove integration from Windows Phone Photos and Peoples Hub????

I would recommend Microsoft to listen to their users rather than bowing down to Facebook

Really, do they hold that much influence over Microsoft? Is a stupid Facebook app much more important than the ease, convenience and functionality of the Integration feature? Is the Facebook app much more important than your users/customers????

Wow! There's an awful lot of speculation thrown in as fact, and an awful lot of emotion from these unconfirmed suppositions. Here's the bottom line: If you don't like the new photo app revert back to Windows 8 - no one's forced you to switch over. I'm as disappointed as anyone about the change in the app, especially the lack of network support. Maybe this was an oversight on behalf of the dev team, and informing them that your upset is the best way to get things swinging in your direction. Demanding someone's head? That's a little ridiculous.

I agree, but "revert to Windows 8" is not the answer either. For precisely the same reasons as why people got upset when Don Mattrick's answer to those consumers upset with the Xbox One's online policy was "Buy a 360". We like to be cutting edge and like other aspects the new version brings.

Totally agree with you. When I first opened the Photos app I honestly though that it was just unfinished and one of the "bugs" to be expected with Windows 8.1. I was *sorely* disappointed when I learned that they had discontinued these services. I LOVE this on my Windows Phone and think that it has an even more important place on Windows. This really feels like a big step backward for the whole OS. They made Music so much better, but did they have to trade its brother, Photos, for that deal? It seems so obviously wrong to me that my OS doesn't automatically sync pictures between my computer and phone automatically now with SkyDrive integration. Sad. Truly sad. I hope that moderators see all of this feedback and reverse this decision. Photos had a decent--though bare bones--start and this is just a huge and unfortunate step backwards.
