I would really like the integration back. I prefer having a Photos hub to having "apps" for things.

The whole idea about WP and Windows 8 WAS integrated service. Will we have to use the app for Facebook conversations as well now that the message app does not support it ? It's allready going that way in W8.1. We used to to able to see who is online in the people hub and now we can't. What's next, the same things on WP ? I was hoping you'd finally add Skype to the message hub but seeing that, and by the fact that a FB app had been released that can send FB message notification, it's more likely it'll be retired and we'll have to use the Skype app for Skype, the fb app for FB and when that happens, WP will become pretty much an iPhone with a different UI.

I know that someone on the Photos team may have answered this but even with official apps, why drop support for viewing and editing photos from inside the Photos app? Is there a way to get the editing features from inside other apps? Are you dropping support for faster updates? Could you re-add these features due to large enough customer feedback? The ability to access images was a nice, convenient feature for those of us who used those sites but didn't want to go into them just to mess with photos.

I completely disagree with this approach. The beauty of Win 8/WP is that I don't need "an app for that" because it's functionality that's baked into the OS or native apps. This decision takes it far from that direction. I don't want to open 3 different apps to view photos from 3 different services. This is silliness and a big step backwards in the innovation spectrum.

Photos App in 8.1 loses most of its best features e.g. Facebook/Flickr support...
