Hi, I have updated to the windows 8.1 RT preview on my 64GB Surface and now when I go to the photos app all it will show me is "this PC" no option for Facebook even though I am signed in and have checked mypermissions, or SkyDrive Please help it makes the app pretty useless Thanks

In Windows 8, we wanted to provide a way for folks to view their photos on other services knowing there would be few (if any) apps in the store at launch that would do so. Now there are many apps in the store that offer ways to view photos on other services and soon there will even be a Facebook app from Facebook. Come on. Have you not learned enough lessons with Windows 8 start button and Xbox One DRM? The photo app without Skydrive, Homegroup and NAS becomes totally useless, especially on memory-limited Surface RT. Now you're essentially saying that I need to search the Store, waste time trying tons of rubbish apps to find a replacement? I don't care about engaging socially with people who are far away, when I can engage with people seating next to me and go through holiday photos with them. The photo app was great for that, and the 4 friends I encouraged buying a Surface would say the same. Now you're killing this app. Very disappointing.

In my opinion, you should bring back all the old integration with the other services. You've provided lots of great features to an app that people love. It would be detrimental if you took away all the features that were elegantly provided. It was already in there so why not just leave it and have people choose to not use it instead of making that choice for them?

I could live without Facebook and Flickr, but I really need either NAS support or HomeGroup support. We have about 80 GB of photos, and I'm not about to upload all of them to SkyDrive - right now we store redundant copies on our two desktops and NAS. The Surface Pro (Windows 8.1) doesn't contain many of the photos, but I'd like to view them from there. Is there no way you can make HomeGroup work like SkyDrive, or support some kind of "Private SkyDrive" configuration via a NAS?

Hi,
