I have not read the entire thread, so I hope this reply is not redundant:
Just add your music and video folders on your SkyDrive to the corresponding library. the Corresponding apps would pick that right up.
Under Windows Explorer, go to SkyDrive, right click the folder -> include in library -> choose corresponding library. Go back to the app (reopen it if have to), all of your supporting content should appear.
May I suggest you DO read the thread?
It is great that SkyDrive as default storage works for you. Personally speaking, I have Terabytes of photos and music. Would be expensive and inconvenient to store in the cloud.
