Come on bring us back the old functionalities of the old photo app. Its not nice to downgrade what was originally there and promote something else worth 15 bucks. It's clearly a "bait and switch" tactic.
Just a quick note, you are replying to Barb Bowman. She is a Microsoft MVP and is a forum moderator, not a Microsoft Employee.
The only thing a Microsoft Employee has recommended is downloading an app per-service to make up for the removal of the service from the Photos app. Such as download the Facebook app to access Facebook photos, download a Flickr app (So far, I'm not sure there is an official one) to access Flickr photos, etc.
That suggestion is from Carmen on page 2 of this thread.
Many people have listed the problems with that idea compared to the way the Photos app worked before but so far there haven't been any responses since then.
What's interesting about that response from 'Carmen' is that it was virtually repeated many months later on a Reddit Q&A from Microsoft employees!
Clearly they don't listen and just do what they (or perhaps Facebook) want.
With the launch of 8.1, MS has been incredibly unresponsive to all issues regarding problems and concerns. It's very frustrating. It seems that when they think they have an unfavorable answer, they greet us with silence. When they don't know something, they greet us with silence. When they crash our systems, they greet us with silence.
