My computer is just a few weeks old and has been working fine until today. I have gotten the blue screen of death many times today and each time it's said it has something to do with System_Service_Exception. If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the files I've noticed are needed after looking through the forums a bit:

Minidump files: http://sdrv.ms/WD992o

System File Information: http://sdrv.ms/RakUdp

same Problem here. brand new hp Notebook, just installed the updates... today 5 times bsod always when i'm Surfing, first i thought it is Firefox, but it also occurs with ie... but total randomly...

You can return the product to HP within 21 days....I spoke to online support to see what I could do about the new laptop I bought...the exact same one as yours...and they said that because it is over 21 days, there is nothing I can do about it. They suggested that I go to online IT Tech support for HP. My advice to you is to just save yourself the frustration and time, and go get a new laptop...do not get a HP 2000 Notebook PC.....and for sure...if you can...avoid Windows 8. So frustrating.

I am also having the same issue, I have brand new pc .I even took the first one back but I am still having these BSOD. It always happens when I am on the internet usually right in the middle of doing my online assignments.Oh and another thing that happens sometimes  it looses its connection to my wireless internet.I am always able to get it reconnected but I shouldnt have to.

Those are the same things I've experienced. BSOD, lost connection to internet (wifi adapter turning off and need to disable and enable the adapter to be able to turn it on.) I also had some problems with the screen automatically dimming to 60% and then suddenly going to 100% over and over.

Sometimes the laptop suddenly just turns off in a heartbeat. One little *click* sound and its dead.

I removed the ASUS bloatware that regulates the screen brightness and contrast. Problem solved.

Dont know why ASUS would at such a program when you can do that stuff in windows. Those two were obviously in conflict.

I recommend everyone here in this thread to REMOVE as much of the bloatware as possible.

    Laura

Well said what we all think in the great moment for frustration

    Amin

    Hello,

I bought my Toshiba laptop with Windows 8 on December 19th and have experienced the same issues as everyone else on this thread.  When I first began getting the errors I found on a forum that Windows 8 does not play nicely with Google Chrome and removed it ... the errors stopped.  But then I began having other issues.  I phoned Microsoft and was patched through to the tech guru people who promptly told me that my ports were open and that I would be charged $60 to have them 'fix' issues.  I have to say that with my computer being only three weeks old at that time, I was extremely upset by this extortion from Microsoft.  There was no logical reason that I should be having computer issues.  Since that call, the computer has been functioning - until tonight when again I am getting the blue screen system service exception error / crash.

I see on this thread that your reply to the first person was made in December.  My question is WHY has Microsoft not done anything about this when there are many Windows 8 users experiencing the same issues?  These issues are seen on a variety of computer brands ... so clearly the issue is not ours but YOURS.   Yet, we are the ones who are suffering with computers and Windows software which is clearly faulty.  WHY has a patch or update or some sort of FIX been done by now - at least two months later ...????

Sending people to safe mode is ridiculous.  Why on brand new computers should people have to do anything when the operating system is CLEARLY the issue???

I'm sure I am not alone when I say that this is completely unacceptable.

Kindly respect your customers by responding with real solutions to this error by way of a patch or service pack or some sort of download ... an effective and perminant solution to this issue.

    -Laura.

In addition to BSOD I had so many bugs and weird things going on with my ASUS N56VZ that I've now reinstalled Windows 8 and deleted as much bloatware as possible. 3 Days and counting, no incidents so far...

If I get BSOD or any of the other bugs again, I'm going back to windows 7.

To me, Windows 8 looks good but has a lot of childhood diseases, so I dont really like it...
