How do you turn off Fullscreen mode in Windows 8?

Despite all of the annoyances of Windows 8, I must say, the random "switching to fullscreen mode" is the most aggravating. . I thought I turned off full screen mode, but it keeps doing that fullscreen.... thing. It's done it -at least- 5 times while I typed this.

No you can't. F11 simply removes the address bar at the top of the screen. Default is full screen with no way to minimize or move the open window.

Me too. It sucks big time but Microsoft don't seem to give a ****. If I'd known this feature was not fixable I wouldn't have bothered with 8, stayed with 7. This is **** and needs fixing.

Are you seriously telling me that I can't reduce the full screen mode when I am in my Chrome browser on Windows 8? If I want to open a file and read something or copy something from the internet into a file, what do I do? This a s a really bad design. I would like a fix, NOW!

This drives me INSANE also...and I can't believe it can't be disabled :( so disappointing.

Can't have music playing in the background...also a great new change.

Do not rate Windows 8 I'm afraid.

it allows NO control of our MULTITASKING environment if we can't re-size what WE need...

If you use it AND leave your window in normal mode at a useful size you can do that simply by pressing F11.
