How do you turn off Fullscreen mode in Windows 8?

Despite all of the annoyances of Windows 8, I must say, the random "switching to fullscreen mode" is the most aggravating. . I thought I turned off full screen mode, but it keeps doing that fullscreen.... thing. It's done it -at least- 5 times while I typed this.

A) .net wasn't developed by the OS team and they hate it.

B) MS has spent a significant amount of time as of late talking about the rebirth of C++

No I'm very clear on what an interface is. I use Linux and I'm used to my choice of Desktop Environments. The issue is here is that there are apps which only run in dog **** mode.

And on top of that WTF is up with winRT? I'm glad I didn't invest a lot of time learning .NET. It's only a matter of time before it's replaced.

And hell even if you do like the god forsaken Windows 8 interface, you can configure Linux to run something similar.

I said it earlier in this thread, but if I wasn't clear enough I'll
say it again. Windows 8 does not have an interface, god-forsaken or
not. It has two interfaces--the modern/metro interface (probably the
one you call the god-forsaken one) and the desktop interface. You can
use either or both.

Although as I also said earlier, I know people who do like the
modern/metro interface, personally I do not. I greatly prefer the
desktop interface and that's what I use. I almost never even look at
the modern/metro interface anymore.

You're not the only one who has gotten confused and thinks that
Windows 8's modern/metro interface is the Windows 8 interface and
that they have no choice. I think that Microsoft has done a poor job
and confused many people by not making the choice of the two
interfaces clear in its documentation, web pages, and advertising. The
result has been that many people hate Windows 8 for no good reason.
