Go to

Ctrl X

Bring up the Windows powershell admin

Type in the following

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

Go back to windows store and it should re-work!!

Thank you,  I have been trying to fix this since installing 8.1  on 10/17/2013.  I have tried 15 or so different fixes/ pieces of advice.  Nothing worked until I found this.  Yes - you are amazing.  Thanks again.
