what is masetupcleaner.exe

I found this after uninstalling Kies as well...I just searched the drive using Explorer then deleted the masetupcleaner.exe file and ran Ccleaner to permanently delete it along with other items left behind by Samsung Kies uninstall.  Computer is working great now, no boot up messages from Kies.  Whatever you do, don't delete any files from the SysWow64 folder in Windows although that is where the MAsetupcleaner.exe resides.  Hope this helps!

I have joined your club today, after I have installed KIES and then I have replaced it with KIES3 (a more advanced version for mobile devices running on Android 4.3 and later) on my PC.

So far I have declined just once, on the very first apparance, to let MASetupCleaner.exe to run, and the safety question has not shown up on the very next reboot.

Like everyone who has posted in this forum, I have safety scanned the whole directory where that uninvited program file has been stored and I have checked several responses among those reported by Google.

With a little more personal investigation, I have found the webpage published by the Corean software house MarkAny (www.markany.com) that describes their product has been designed to support the Content DRM for Samsung's KIES Media Player:

My concern for a possible safety threat is now substantially over.

I got the same message just after uninstalling KIES. I have been using Snappea to manage my phone and then I decided to uninstall KIES as I was no longer using it. I restarted right after uninstall and got the Prompt to allow changes by masetupcleaner. Maybe it's a once off operation to finish removing KIES?

I never saw this MASetup.exe until after I uninstalled KIES. (which doesn't work for ****).

Thanks for the tip on  airdroid. I'll check it out. I uninstalled Kies after a major let down by Samsung. I kept the Samsung USB entry in Control Panel->Programs - which I may also delete. Jury's out on that one. 

Masetup popped up on restart so I deleted it from WOW64. I also deleted all files in Wow64 that started with "ma" and had Korean chars in Properties ->Details and were installed on the same date. I'll use CCleaner to clean the registry and afterwards check Regedit Local keys manually. It's a bear to delete Kies and don't recommend anyone installing it. Btw, I'm running W7 Sp1 and have a GS3.

When Kies didn't work properly at first, their Support tried to tell me it was a Dell USB problem. I've been supporting enterprise software for 40 years and knew I was working with a novice. When I asked for a supervisor, she hung up on me. I don't need that. Not sure what smart phone/tablet will be my next but pretty sure it won't be Samsung.
