what is masetupcleaner.exe

Like everyone else after uninstalling Kies, MASetup Cleaner kept appearing on start up. Taking your advice I downloaded and ran Ccleaner. Problem solved. Still have Kies3 installed(for now) which Kies said was needed for my Galaxy Tab Pro. Don't understand why the old version wasn't automatically uninstalled when Kies3 was installed. No wonder Samsung is slowly losing sales when their customers are forced to put up with **** like this.

You are right about that...KEIS is just about the buggiest software that I have ever had to work with.  I need it to sync my contacts and calendar, but the reliability is awful.

I installed Kies last night to attempt backing up all my phone data, so I could do a much needed hard reset on my Galaxy 3 in hopes of resolving some major issues with battery life/calibration. Has to top the list for worst software ever. I received the MAsetupCleaner.exe request earlier this morning when I started up my laptop...

Any updates on this latest mess created by the Samsung Kies software?...

It happened to me the same, after de-installation of kies did get this message.

I have a windows 8.1 platform, and installed kies. I could not connect a recent  Samsung phone through this software ! So I've uninstalled this bad software.

This sofware shloud be avoided !

Typicall of Samsung's behaviour : pretend they can do better and cheaper; that's not the case. Fortunately, the phone seems to function well.

They don't install malware that often, all they do is make you pay $$$ for them to "fix your computer" (once you pay they hang up).
