Using Windows Phone 8, I am unable to open media content in text messages, says getting content but doesn't open

I received a text with the message "Get media content now". When I "click" on the message phone says "getting media content" then switches back to "get media content". The media does not open. 

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for having written on the forum.

It could be possible that you’re trying to open or download a format file which isn’t supported from Windows Phone 8.

Another origin of this problem could be related with if the files you’re trying to download or open are protected from a password. This feature isn’t supported from windows phone.

    Hi Michael....thanks for the info.... thought my phone was fixed, cause started getting pictures without any problem....then phone did an update and now I can't even send a picture to anyone let alone open one that someone else sends me... I went into mobile +sim and it was already on.......so sick of this.....anyway thanks....and what a cute dog! love the coat! here is our little guy

    Same "get media content (1kb)" sms i am getting too. The weird thing is- i phoned the person i was getting the sms from ( i knew them) and they said they didn't send it. Now my husband i smsed ( also has a windows 630) is getting same sms from the person that had smsed me originally. Could this be a virus? Not sure if its possible

    Had this problem on my developer Lumia 920.

    Ultimately after talking w/ AT&T the creation of a new APN entry process is similar to what I ended up doing, too. What's weird is that there was already an APN entry named "AT&T" that was active. In the walkthrough, I created a new entry, switched to it, and it started working.

    So, I switched back to the other (unmodified) AT&T APN entry -- and it's working fine, too.

    Hi Florence..you might have fixed the problem by now on your 520,I have the same phone,go into settings,then click on cellular and sim...make sure data is clicked on..MJ
