Using Windows Phone 8, I am unable to open media content in text messages, says getting content but doesn't open

I received a text with the message "Get media content now". When I "click" on the message phone says "getting media content" then switches back to "get media content". The media does not open. 

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for having written on the forum.

It could be possible that you’re trying to open or download a format file which isn’t supported from Windows Phone 8.

Another origin of this problem could be related with if the files you’re trying to download or open are protected from a password. This feature isn’t supported from windows phone.

    I turned the data connection option to "off" then restarted the phone after waiting about a minute.  Then I powered the phone back on and turned data connection back "on" and the issue was fixed.  This was on the 1520 with 8.1.  Hope that helps....

    I think I have solved this issue! I manually had to put in the AT&T MMS APN settings and BOOM! pictures came in when I tapped the get media txt. here are the AT&T MMS APN setting;

    Windows Phone 8.1 -> Settings -> cellular+SIM ->Edit MMS APN

    Enter the information on the picture then go to your txt message with media and tap get media

    Does anyone know the Verizon settings?
