Hi Narcisse,

Thank you for choosing Windows 8 as your operating system.

I see that you receive the error code: 0X80073CF9, and are unable to install apps from Windows Store.

Let us work together to resolve this issue.

I would like to inform you that this error code is usually related to a folder that’s missing and prevents apps from installing.

Method 1: Recreate the AUInstallAgent folder.

**a.**Press Windows key + R to open the Run Dialog.

**b.**Type %windir% and press Enter. You should now be in the Windows folder.

**c.**Look for a folder called AUInstallAgent. If it is missing in the Windows folder, then right click on an empty space and click on New folder.

**d.**Rename the folder as AUInstallAgent.

**e.**Restart the Computer and check if you are able to install apps.

If the AUInstallAgent folder is already available in the above mentioned location, then continue with these steps

Method 2: Reset Windows Store Cache.

Follow these steps to do so.

**a.**On the desktop, press Windows key + R to open the Run Dialog.

**b.**Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.

Method 3: Try to install the apps in Clean Boot.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts**.**Here is the link for your reference to perform clean boot.

Check if you are able to install or update the apps in Windows Store.

    Hi, I have been having the same problem for about the last month or so. I have tried everything that you had listed, and None of it worked. Is there any other options besides rebooting my computer to factory settings. Please help.

    Hello to the community, looking everywhere and trying everything as method, I found the solution in this video tutorial:

    In which our friend Nekszer López Espinoza tells us that in the search writeCMD run as administrator then write the following commands one by one and we enter after each: 

    1. net stop wuauserv
    2. rename c: \ windows \ SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    3. net start wuauserv
    4. exit

    and this should now load the applications you want to install.

    This works for windows 8 to windows 8.1
