Windows volume shortcut

Did some wasting time on simple call function.

I mean this is like, someone even made a utility for this common utitlity.

there was mute shortcut in 1990.

people don't need multi-media keyboards.  if you are not into music creation or making music with your keyboards or mixing a lot. with syntheizer software which is what multi-media keyboars are for. games, media..not turning volume,

volume up

volume down

mute

three simple shortcuts and this is 2014 and isn't in windows 7..

wasting time installing some third party utility and people talkin about going to registry. as simple call colde or .exe function is all you need.

microsoft must have removed a simple pop. feature. AGAIN!

You don't really need addditonal software or even utitlity to call the volume up, volume down, mute controls in the operating system.

Either someone doesn't want shortcut for mute button.

Microsoft can easily have shortcut key for mute and no need for the additional software.

Microsoft recently has been removing certain 'function's and features in their software either from lawsuits from patents.

These shortcuts are very easy to program and included in the operating system.  All you doing is calling function or command that is already built into the operating system.  A button or shortcut is just a command. 

it can be done in 3 lines of code.

this is 2014 not 1975.

                Is it possible to control the master volume with some keyboard shortcut? I would prefer it to be without a use of some additional software.But if it isn't possible then the software should be pretty light-weight and not consume a lot of CPU/RAM.  Thank you for your help. 

  PS: I DON'T intend to buy a multimedia keyboard for that.

Yes,you can create a Master Volume Shortcut and also assign a Shortcut Key.

Right click on a empty area on desktop, and click on New and Shortcut.

Paste the following in to the location of the item area:-

%windir%\System32\SndVol.exe -f 49825268Click Next button and give a name to the Shortcut and click Finish.

Now You right click on it and select Properties.

Click Shortcut tab.

Assign your desired shortcut key like F8 or F9 in the Shortcut Key area.

Click OK/Apply.

additional information for the control of the volume is Mute and Full Volume,

Just Press the Home For Full Volume, for Mute Press the End.
