Windows volume shortcut

Hello. 

                Is it possible to control the master volume with some keyboard shortcut? I would prefer it to be without a use of some additional software.But if it isn't possible then the software should be pretty light-weight and not consume a lot of CPU/RAM.  Thank you for your help. 

  PS: I DON'T intend to buy a multimedia keyboard for that.

Yes,you can create a Master Volume Shortcut and also assign a Shortcut Key.

Right click on a empty area on desktop, and click on New and Shortcut.

Paste the following in to the location of the item area:-

%windir%\System32\SndVol.exe -f 49825268Click Next button and give a name to the Shortcut and click Finish.

Now You right click on it and select Properties.

Click Shortcut tab.

Assign your desired shortcut key like F8 or F9 in the Shortcut Key area.

Click OK/Apply.

    I registered JUST to reply and say thank you! If it wasn't for the fact that I HAD to have a WIN7 Laptop because of work, I'd wouldn't have a worry (Apple fan). Other than that, using shift and home/end works just as well to get my typing done and the whole thing doesn't inpeed.

    Is there anything I can do to replace keys with F10-12?

    You can use this script, created by me with the help of Auto hotkey (www.autohotkey.com)

    Usage :

    1. Dowload Volume Control.exe from   http://www.mediafire.com/download/8b2new16ndo6dob/Volume%20Control.exe

    2.Open the Volume Control (nothing seems to be happened)

    1. To control with keyboard

    Page Up = Volume +

    Page Down = Volume -

    1. To control with Mouse

    Hold the right - click button of mouse and roll the wheel up and down to raise or lower the volume

    Just delete system32 and try again. It will work then. 

    Or you can use arrow keys, pgup, pgdwn, home and end to control it once you've opened the volume control window.

    This is very cool - can you recommend any other useful shorcuts that are executable like this one?

    How did you know how to create the file-path? %windir%\System32...

    What do the %s mean?
