Windows volume shortcut

J.Cruz14, you don't delete the shortcut key, you simply type the shortcut you want and it'll overwrite whatever is there.

Click the mouse in the field "Shortcut Key:" so the cursor is blinking. Now just type the keyboard combination you want as the shortcut.

It's kind of funny because if you had hit LITERALLY any other key on the keyboard you would have noticed this change but the "delete" key actually deletes any shortcut that is there and which "none" represents.

Thanks for the info. But I could only get to the next to last step. I opened the Shortcut tab but when I try to assign a key in the query box, I'm not able to delete "none" from the query box to type in a shortcut key. What am I doing wrong?

Per that code to access the volume panel (thank you that is great)...is there a way to modify that code to specifcally turn the volume up (or down)?

                Is it possible to control the master volume with some keyboard shortcut? I would prefer it to be without a use of some additional software.But if it isn't possible then the software should be pretty light-weight and not consume a lot of CPU/RAM.  Thank you for your help. 

  PS: I DON'T intend to buy a multimedia keyboard for that.

Yes,you can create a Master Volume Shortcut and also assign a Shortcut Key.

Right click on a empty area on desktop, and click on New and Shortcut.

Paste the following in to the location of the item area:-

%windir%\System32\SndVol.exe -f 49825268Click Next button and give a name to the Shortcut and click Finish.

Now You right click on it and select Properties.

Click Shortcut tab.

Assign your desired shortcut key like F8 or F9 in the Shortcut Key area.

Click OK/Apply.

I started to do this and then saw the volume controls on my dell e5510... :)  Not enough coffee today and still a good tip overall.
