Updates trying to install over and over again (KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583)

These three updates are trying to be reinstalled over and over again.  Replicable on both PCs

  • KB2760411
  • KB2760588
  • KB2760583

The updates are trying to be install over and over again.  Every time I click "check for updates," there it appears again.

Update 1: I have tried restarting the PC.  Nothing.  I have also tried FixIt when trying to troubleshoot Windows Update errors.  Still nothing.  The FixIt simply "runs" till the end and then says "finish."  It did not offer to fix anything.

Windows 7 X64 SP1 with Norton Internet Security 2013 (version 20).

Known issues with this security update

  • You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.

Update 5: I did not have to do anything on my part (like re-install updates), so it's probably a detection issue on Microsoft's part.

    I'm still having the same issue.  I don't understand how some have it fixed.  I'm running Vista.  Could it be that it's only been fixed for Windows 7 & 8?

    Go to => Microsoft Update and do a Custom scan. No High priority updates should be shown.

    I still get 3 high priority updates and 3 non priority ones!  It's the same as it was on 9/10 even though I installed the updates (13 of them today) that were supposed to fix the problem.  I have rebooted my computer twice and it still installs the updates dated 9/10.  Please help.

    Dear the Microsoft Support team

     

    I have also the same problem with the following updates, released September 10, 2013:

    *KB2810048

    *KB2760411

    *KB2760588.

     

    Every time I run the build in Windows Update, I can see the three updates that your updater told me that I not have installed.

     

    If I go to Programs and features, I fine can find the three updates, and I not can see an errors regarding the updates.

     

    I have tried to rename the folder called "SoftwareDistribution" founded on C:\Windows, but still the same issue.

     

    Nice if you please can take a look on the issue and write back in this thread.

     

    Running Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1.

    Same here on XP Home with Office Pro 2003 and 2007 Compatibilty Pack.

     

    Another detection logic issue, will probably linger for a day or so I suspect until it gets fixed. Rather than hide them I just switched to Windows Update only for now.

    I'm having this problem too!  These updates have been "Sucessfully" downloaded and installed on my Compaq CQ60-615DX running Win 7 Pro MULTIPLE TIMES (6 times so far).  Seems like UPDATE cannot recognize they are already installed.

    I'm still having the same issue.  I don't understand how some have it fixed.  I'm running Vista.  Could it be that it's only been fixed for Windows 7 & 8?

    If using XP go to => Microsoft Update and do a Custom scan. No High priority updates should be shown. If using other (Vista, Win 7) use Start>Programs>Windows Update (or search) and Check for updates.
