Clock on windows 8 is wrong time, i tried setting to internet time but its still wrong, think theres a time clock bug, anyone have same problem for windows 8 and know how to fix it?

I had this problem when I got my computer.  I tried the above first, but that failed.  Try clicking on the time in the lower right corner of your screen; a window should pop up and you should be able to set the correct time there.

    When I installed Windows 8 it assumed my Locale was in the UK even though I had specified New Zealand.

    Just changing the time is not enough because when the clocks are adjusted for daylight saving it may change yours the wrong way.

    From control panel navigate your way to the Region settings, choose the Location tab and make sure you set that to where you actually live.

    Then find date and time and make sure that the time zone is the correct one.

    I am not sure why there are two different places to set this or which is responsible, but the old adage "never go to sea with two clocks" still applies ;)

    Has to be a Windows 8 Pro bug.  Clock shows 7 hours fast.  I can set the clock to correct local time and can update with the time server.  However, when I restart the machine, the correct time doesn't persist - it's just wrong again.

    This machine dual boots Windows 8 and Ubuntu Linux 12.10.  The time always shows correctly when I boot to Linux but not Windows 8 on the same hardware.  Please fix this Windows 8 bug (along with constant File Explorer crashes, but that's another topic).

    1. Since I 1st installed Windows 8 Pro on this system (upgraded MB, RAM, USB 3.0 controller & SSD.
    2. I did have AVG but I have totally uninstalled it and the problem still persists.
    3. I have to reset the time every time I boot Windows 8.

    It might be interesting to know:

    1. I use two different SSDs with two different OS; one for W8 and one for a Linux OS. If I keep using the W8 SSD when rebooting, the time remains correct. After I have used the other SSD and then go back to W8, the incorrect time always returns.
    2. The BIOS is set to the correct local time.
    3. I have a combination of US English language, location Sweden, Swedish keyboard and some modifications in some settings (metric, euro, decimal, etc.).

    PLEASE update Windows 8 to fix this automatically. The time setting is obviously vital for a modern PC and OS.
