How do you resize desktop icons in Windows 8?

The icons on my desktop changed to a smaller size. I do not know what cause them to change size. How do I change their size back to what it was?

I have been unable to find any directions on sizing desktop icons for Windows 8.

hmm, I hold down the Crtl key and use the mouse wheel to resize desktop icons.

The Desktop in Windows 8 works the same way it did in previous versions.

Right click an empty space on the Desktop.

Select the View option.

You shouild see 3 options for changing to Small, Medium, or Large Icons.

Note that that's not just for Desktop icons. It's Windows standard,
and works in many (but not all) applications.

Thank-you for this - why "Search" doesn't come up with this is just marginally puzzling. "in previous versions", presumably means Win 7? I'm jumping from xp (where icons have NEVER spontaneously re-sized) to 8,

Too right! In my case they have gone giant, and search as I can, and trawl through Control Panel I can find absolutely no way of resizing icons.
