In many cases, Nokia does not mention firmware updates on their page because they have that ‘product code’ issue: Each unit has a product code which determines the firmware variant. Some versions do not reach all firmware variants, furthermore, some versions take very long to reach certain firmware variants. This product-code mess, kills ‘we have a new firmware version’ for the marketing department. Consequently, for some versions, nobody talks about it at Nokia.

Yeah I actually did it with the "delete all" command the first time (I did it again then, but but it doesn't change anything).

I've just tried the tool you suggest me; I had to run it on a virtual machine with Win 7 as on my computer I have Windows Vista and it was not compatible. But after I connected the phone under Nokia Software Recovery Tool, it only proposed me to upgrade to "software version 10.24", which seemed to be related to firmware as it was also said I had to leave the phone connected and not removing it during the update or it could make it stop working... But that's strange I can't find any track of a firmware v.10.24 for Nokia Asha 208 on Nokia dev website for instance (only on some alternative firmware download websites).

The upgrade actually didn't work out (stopped at 10%), but that may be because the virtual machine (i'll try to test on another computer if you think it can help). No harm to my phone though, and I tried to check for FOTA upgrade via the phone, but it says no firmware update available...

SMS and Gallery still sync with Nokia Suite... And still this Contacts error message only...

did you try the ‘delete all’ option in your Nokia, both for contacts and groups? If that does not help, I would go for the Nokia Software Recovery Tool on a Windows computer because the contact database of your Nokia might gone corrupt.

Well I was able to synchronise my contacts from PC to Phone after doing following your advices Abi.

Then I upgraded the Firmware Over The AIr (FOTA) from v4.xx to v.6.01 (Nokia 208).

Then I couldn't delete contacts on the phone & Sim Card (to then do a clean sync) so I did it from the phone ... Not so clever, I should have tried to sync again first.

Because now Nokia Suite doesn't want to sync anymore... Saying "A problem [...]. A contact application is open on you device. Close the application and try again. Error code: 80700000 8d5e000a"

The thing is I don't have any particular contact app open, or I have no idea of what it can be (In any case I'm on my phone's "desktop"/home screen) 

I tried to uninstall Nokia Suite 3.54 and Connectivity driver, tried with 3.6, 3.8, and followed Abi's installation guide again... Same!

What is strange is that Nokia Suite can nevertheless read SMS/Photos/Video on my phone... 

Any idea (all my contacts are gone :smileysad:)?

The step you suggested works perfect on Nokia 301 RM-839 Dual SIM.
