Hi Steve,
I am afraid my knowledge is very basic and I am new to this forum! (I hope I will receive an automatic email from the forum saying you have replied to this post etc - trouble is my new 'outlook.com' email address that I had to create to join the forum might not even work - nightmare!)
Anyway, I need to try each step at a time. How do I sign in as administrator? What is CMD? Where is it? What does it do?
I have read through most of the 8 pages on this post. Your helpfulness makes you a hero of the internet!
Steve
Sir,when i type BCDEdit and press enter it say 'The boot configuration data store could not be opened.Access is denied.'
open CMD as Administrator
You have hacked or infected files on your computer.
Check your BCD and do the below fix if necessary (at your own risk)
In Windows open CMD as Administrator and type BCDEdit and enter, if your Windows Boot Loader Path is xOsload.exe then you need to remove some files and repair your BCD.
NOTE: you will need to re-activate Windows afterwards, so make sure you have your Windows 7 key handy.
Boot to Windows Repair - Command
Del D:\Windows\System32\xOsload.exe
Del D:\Windows\System32\xNtKrnl.exe
Del D:\Windows\System32\Drivers\oem-drv64.sys
attrib c:\boot\bcd -h -r -s
ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
bootrec /rebuildbcd
Sir,when i type BCDEdit and press enter it say 'The boot configuration data store could not be opened.Access is denied.'
Just an observation: Why isn't Microsoft addressing the errors it creates?
They didn't create it, it was a hack or virus.
